About me

I offer coaching and consulting work, as well as workshops based on a practice I refer to as cultural somatics.

My work draws upon three main lineages:

  • ‘Western’ healing modalities such as expressive arts therapy (which I am certified in), somatic therapy, and dance movement therapy
  • Ancestral Asian/Japanese somatics
  • Afro-diasporic popular dance, specifically ‘popping’.

I once wrote a viral article called: “Why white people can’t dance: because they are traumatized“.

Also, here is a statement about me, harm, and accountability. As a person engaged in community pedagogy, I am committed to being pro-active in addressing questions on these subjects.
